I've been teaching yoga for over 30 years. Since 2011, I've been one of The Gray Institute's Fellows of Applied Functional Science and an NG360 Golf Performance Specialist since 2012.


As much as I love yoga postures, the classic ones don't meet the needs of golfers. A golf swing is a complicated, dynamic action. Yoga postures are best to prepare people for seated meditation; golf postures are the right fit for golfers. 


Encourage's SwingReady training is light on yoga postures but heavy on golf-centric movements and dynamic, swing-specific flows.


These golf postures flow from the Gray Institute's Functional Golf System created by PGA pro/NCAA Champion, Jonathan Moore, and by Drs. Gary Gray and David Tiberio (the creators of the (Nike Golf) NG360 program).

For 1000s of years, yoga practitioners have studied the breath and its impact on the mind-body connection. Its benefits are considered an "open secret" because they're literally right under our noses, waiting for us to take advantage of them!


As a practitioner and teacher of yoga breath training techniques for over thirty years, I'll show you how to access the breath and its "secret" gifts.

If you've taken lessons from a PGA pro, you know exactly what you're supposed to do. But can you put that knowledge into action?

Ready to Get to Work?

Here's the process:


1) In a pressure-free environment, you take a few swings with the club of your choice to give me a sense of your signature style. You'll also let me know if there's anything in particular you want to address.


2) We do a quick review of 6 basic movement patterns to get a feel for how the joints of your body move (what feels easy, what feels restricted, etc.).


3) We do a few golf-specific movements that look at your address posture, your backswing, the transition to impact and your finish/follow through. And then we check to see what kind of buffer zones you have with each of those swing components.


4) What emerges is your unique 'go to' game plan for getting your body ready for impact.


5) You finish up with a simple, yet powerful breath-based awareness practice.

The first session establishes where you are, identifies where you want to go and gives you a plan for how you'll travel that path.

Follow Through
